Terms

These Terms and Conditions apply to the "Win a Greener Home Upgrade" prize draw (the "Prize Draw"). Eligible Participants who take part in the Prize Draw agree to be bound by these following Terms and Conditions.

1. The Promoter

1.1 The Prize Draw is run by ScottishPower Energy Retail Limited, a company registered in Scotland (Company number SC190287), VAT number GB 639 570 080, of 320 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5AD ("ScottishPower").

2. The Prize Draw

2.1 The title of the Prize Draw is "Win a Greener Home Upgrade".

2.2 All Eligible Participants (see the eligibility criteria set out below at Clause 5) who participate in the Prize Draw will have the chance to win one EV home charger (including the charger and standard installation) and a solar panels (including standard installation) this will be worth up to the value of £15,000 (the "Prize").

2.3 The Prize Draw will run from XXXXX (the "Opening Date") to XXXX (the "Closing Date") inclusive (the "Promotional Period").

2.4 The winners will be drawn and announced on XXXX (the "Announcement Date").

2.5 The Prize Draw is free to enter for all Eligible Participants.

3. The Prize

3.1 The Prize comprises of both One home charger and X solar panels plus and standard installation, as described below. Winners may choose not to receive or use any part of the Prize; however, no cash equivalent, substitute prize or compensation will be provided for any element declined or not utilised.

3.2 There is no cash alternative for the Prize.

3.3 The Prize is not negotiable or transferable.

3.4 An Eligible Participant cannot win more than one Prize.

3.5 Use of the Prize is subject to Smart EV Charge Point Services Terms and Conditions, available here.

4. How to enter

4.1 To enter the Prize Draw, Eligible Participants must follow the instructions outlined in the entry form:

a) the ScottishPower activation live at XXXX via /paid mobile phone entry or
b) the ScottishPower game (name and host location TBC).

c) Via ScottishPower social channels: Instagram and Facebook. This promotion is not affiliated with Facebook or Instagram.
d) ScottishPower member's email campaign associated with the Prize Draw (the "Email Campaign").

4.2 The winner will be selected through a random draw from all valid entries received. The decision regarding the selection of winner will be final.

5. Eligibility

5.1 To enter the Prize Draw, you must:

a) be a resident in Great Britain;
b) be aged 18 or over;
c) valid homeowner;
d) provide their name, a valid email address and phone number;
e) be willing to feature in filming and photography to be shared on ScottishPower social channels.

ScottishPower shall reserve the right to withhold the Prize in its entirety where the winner has repeatedly failed to pay sums due to ScottishPower, or where ScottishPower is not sole creditor (unless the debt is disputed by the Prize winner excludes them from being entitled to receive the Prize).

5.2 The Prize Draw is not open to:

a) employees of ScottishPower, their Widerboard group, or any associated partner; or
b) employees or agents of suppliers of ScottishPower, who are professionally connected with the Prize Draw or its administration;
c) in entering the Prize Draw, the participant confirms that they are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the Prize. A winner is subsequently found not to be an Eligible Participant, they shall not be entitled to receive the Prize. In this case the Prize will be redrawn or, if withdrawn, it is not possible for the Prizes to be redrawn, it will be permanently withdrawn.

5.3 ScottishPower and NAME OF ACTIVATION - Competition staff reserve the right to refuse participation in the Activation to any persons who participate in an unfair and/or unsatisfactory manner, to be determined at the sole discretion of ScottishPower and/or NAME OF ACTIVATION.

5.4 ScottishPower will not accept entries that:

a) are automatically generated by computer or created by artificial intelligence (including but not limited to chatbots such as ChatGPT or similar software applications);
b) are completed by third parties or in bulk;
c) do not meet the entry requirements stated in the Terms and Conditions and are not made by an Eligible Participant; or
d) are incomplete.

5.5 There is a limit of one entry per person (and per household). Entries made using multiple email addresses will not be accepted and may be deleted from the Eligible Participant, any subsequent entries will be disqualified. Where possible, entries should be made using the same email address as the entry account it registered to.

5.7 ScottishPower reserves all rights to disqualify a winner if their conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Prize Draw.

5.8 ScottishPower shall reserve the right to withhold the Prize in its entirety where the winner has repeatedly failed to pay sums due to ScottishPower, or where ScottishPower is not sole creditor (unless the debt is disputed) of the Prize winner excludes them from being entitled to receive the Prize.

6. Publicity

6.1 Each participant, by participating in the Prize Draw, agrees and understands that their surname and town or city may be used for promotional purposes, including on ScottishPower's website, social accounts and in marketing materials of the Prize.

6.2 Each participant that wins a Prize also agrees and understands that they will participate in photo, audio and/or filming session(s) and to make use of the resulting materials in any media for publicity purposes relating to the Prize Draw, unless that participant notifies ScottishPower otherwise by way of the process set out at Clause 6.3 below. For the avoidance of doubt, no fees shall be payable to any participant in relation to the use of these publicity materials.

6.3 If a participant objects to participating in any promotional or publicity activities as outlined at Clauses 6.1 and 6.2 above, they should email ScottishPower at competitions@scottishpower.com within 4 weeks of being notified of the Prize.

6.4 In the event of the Prize being unclaimed after 14 days from the Announcement Date, ScottishPower will publish a listing of the winner on the Prize Draw website and/or use reasonable endeavours to contact the winner by telephone or email.

7. Contacting the winners

7.1 ScottishPower will contact the winners personally via email within 14 days of the Announcement Date. On the Announcement Date, ScottishPower will publish a blog stating they have drawn the Prize winners. ScottishPower will use reasonable endeavours to contact the winner. If the draw is not responded in 14 days then ScottishPower will draw another winner.

7.2 ScottishPower will require the customer to contact the EV and solar team to arrange for a survey in advance of installation, details will be provided in the email notifying them of the Prize. Where there is not possible, ScottishPower will liaise with the winner to ensure they receive their Prize as soon as reasonably possible and keep them regularly informed as to the date on which ScottishPower expect that they will receive their Prize.

8. Limitation of liability

8.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, ScottishPower will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate a winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of claiming any Prize, except where this is directly caused by the negligence of ScottishPower. Nothing in this Clause will affect the statutory rights of a winner to receive the Prize.

9. Data protection and publicity

9.1 Relating to the Prize Draw, ScottishPower will process Eligible Participant personal information as described in these Terms and Conditions. This will typically be the name and email address provided by Eligible Participants, together with any personal information collected for publicity purposes as detailed in clause 6 above.

9.2 ScottishPower may ask for proof of a winner's identity. If a winner is unable to provide adequate proof of identity, ScottishPower may withdraw that Prize and select another winner in their place.

9.3 ScottishPower always make sure it has a lawful basis to use personal data. In the case of the Prize Draw, the processing of personal data will normally rely on it being necessary for performance of a contract, i.e. fulfil ScottishPower's obligations under these terms and conditions for the Prize Draw or to administer any objections a participant has made. Any use of Eligible Participant's personal information for publicity purposes will rely on it being necessary for ScottishPower's legitimate interests.

9.4 ScottishPower will keep the appropriate evidence for audit and record keeping requirements for a period of 2 years after the Prize Draw.

10. General

10.1 If there is any reason to believe that any Eligible Participant has breached these Terms and Conditions, ScottishPower may, at ScottishPower's sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude such Eligible Participant from participating in the Prize Draw or any other competition or prize draw administered by ScottishPower.

10.2 In the event of circumstances outside the reasonable control of ScottishPower, or otherwise where fraud, abuse, and/or error (human or computer) affects or could affect the proper operation of the Prize Draw, and only where circumstances make this unavoidable, ScottishPower reserves the right to cancel or amend the Prize Draw or withdraw Conditions at any stage, but will always endeavour to minimise the effect to Eligible Participants.

10.3 ScottishPower reserves the right to void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Prize Draw where it becomes necessary to do so with immediate effect and without liability to Eligible Participants.

10.4 In the event of any dispute regarding any aspect of the Prize Draw, the decision of ScottishPower shall be final. No correspondence will be entered into.

10.5 The Prize Draw and these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Scotland, and ScottishPower and anyone who seeks to rely on these Terms and Conditions submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.

*The following is included in the standard installation for an EV charger: 

  • An online survey to understand your installation requirements.
  • The installation of an EV Charging Point to a brick or plaster wall, or to another suitable permanent structure as per Device Manufacturer's recommendations.
  • The installation of a dynamic load management / load management device and any associated CT clamps, if found or recommended.
  • Up to 15 metres of cable, run and neatly clipped to the wall between the distribution board / electricity supply meter and the home EV charger.
  • Supply and installation of a compliant RCBO/RCD unit.
  • Supply and installation of a compliant Surge Protection Device.
  • Cable can be drilled through one hole in a wall up to 500mm thick (if required).
  • Up to 3 meters of plastic conduit to conceal interior wiring.
  • All necessary safety tests to ensure your home EV charger is ready for use.
  • Set up of the connection between your charge point and your mobile device, and
  • An overview of how to use your Charger and manage it with the mobile app.

Please note we also make the following assumptions:

  • The existing switchboard has available space.
  • The service fuse is 80 amps or greater.
  • There are no additional groundworks required, and
  • There is an isolation switch between your meter and your consumer unit. A standard installation relies on there being a meter isolation switch installed as part of your electrical system. If you don't have a meter isolation switch you are responsible for arranging this via your energy supplier prior to the installation appointment being confirmed.
